📱 Identity Verification via Phone Number
- Accounts on Letstalk are exclusively authenticated via verified phone numbers. We do not use email passwords.
- To ensure security and prevent unauthorized deletions, you must verify ownership of your registered phone number via a one-time password (OTP).

⚠️ What happens when you delete your account?
- Immediate Deactivation: Your profile, public encryption keys, friends graph, and online presence are instantly removed from active matchmaking.
- 30-Day Recovery Period: Your account enters a soft-deletion grace period. If you change your mind, simply log in via the Letstalk mobile app within 30 days to cancel deletion.
- Permanent Erasure: After 30 days, your account profile, bio, avatars, and private data are permanently destroyed from all our database clusters.
- CERT-In Legal Retention: In compliance with Indian CERT-In directions, basic network communication timestamps are preserved for 180 days before automated hard-purge.
